Hermes Windows Native¶
Install: git clone https://github.com/markwang2658/hermes-windows-native.git
A Windows-native integrated package that bundles Hermes Agent v0.16.0 + Hermes WebUI v0.51.454 with a shared Python virtual environment, PowerShell launchers, and one-click startup. No Docker, no WSL2 - the lightest local footprint on Windows.
Why Use This¶
| Alternative | Windows Native Benefit |
|---|---|
| Docker Desktop | ~4GB RAM overhead eliminated |
| WSL2 | No Linux subsystem required |
| Manual setup | One PowerShell script handles everything |
| Separate venvs | Single .venv for Agent + WebUI |
| Source tree pollution | Runtime data in %USERPROFILE%\.hermes |

Free Models (Confirmed Working)¶
Only these free no-key models have been confirmed with this Windows-native setup:
- stepfun/step-3.7-flash:free
- nvidia/nemotron-3-ultra:free
Pitfalls¶
- Hardcoded paths: Launcher scripts are path-bound to
F:\hermes-windows. Rename the root directory? Update paths insidehermes-startfirst. - PowerShell execution policy: You may need
Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope CurrentUser RemoteSignedto run the launchers. - Firewall: Windows Defender may block the WebUI on port 8787. Allow it when prompted.

Integration with CorpusIQ¶
CorpusIQ is the connector layer that lets AI assistants read the systems a business already runs on - accounting, payments, CRM, email, files and analytics - and answer with the source named. It is read-only by design: it retrieves data and never writes to, or acts in, a connected system, which is what makes it safe to point at live accounts.
This page is part of the CorpusIQ directory, the reference we maintain for the MCP server and agent-skill ecosystem. Run alongside CorpusIQ, a third-party server like this one can be combined with a company's own business data in a single answer.
